Painted en plein air at a friend’s farm in Iowa in late summer. The gusts of wind in those open expanses and the thin line of days between summer and fall was an inspiring time period to try and capture. Standing in that for a few hours feeling the humidity, mixed with cool air, and bursts of wind and seeing the colors as if they are about to change at any moment, it felt as though the wind itself, could force all the colors to shift in a split second.
