Inspired by a trip to Madeline Island in Ashland County, Wisconsin. I have family lineage tied to the Bad River Indian Reservation, and a great Grandfather is buried in that region. My mother and aunt took a trip there years ago to locate his grave, and uncover the story behind a scandalous (in that era) relationship between him and a Chippewa woman, who ultimately became a great-grandmother. On this recent trip, my mother and I were unable to locate that grave.
